This place is a Indochinese restaurant, not really Thai restaurant even though they have a few Thai things on the menu. Compared to the other Indochinese places in the area (Chopstick and Ming) you get quality and good service. I never liked Indochinese til I had it here, Ming always left me underwhelmed and the prices always never justified the food -- maybe for a fancy fine dining Indochinese place it's good. Can't speak too much to the Chopstick in Edison but the one in North Brunswick (same chain) was greasy!

What I have tried at Royal Kamling
Hakka Noodles - my second fav dish
Chili Chicken Hakka Style
Shrimp Hot Garlic
Chilli Paneer - my fav dish by far
Kamling Fried Rice

Food is spicy but can be toned down if you just ask them.
It is a bit on the pricier side considering the ambiance but to be honest to have my entire family (including extended family) all seated at one table, with prompt service, good food, and consistent over multiple visits you have my vote as good restaurant.

Oh yeah its BYOB! It's huge deal for me since I spend so much time in NYC where the bill typically ends up being the wine bottle.

“Fabulous food. Pricey, but worth it as an occasional treat.”
This is one of the best fusion restaurants in Edison. Ming and Chopsticks do not compare. The food is excellent, very tasty. We catered from here for a graduation party, and even in large quantities, the food was great...everyone loved it! They do charge a ridiculous amount for rice ($6/bowl), thats why we've resorted to take out (where they give you the rice for free). The lunch special is great, you get soup, soda, and an entree for $10.

“Great Food, Lovely Setting, Courteous Service”
If you love Thai with a twist, this is the place for you. The food is very tasty, and some of the items in the menu aren't that common in regular Thai restaurants. The ambiance is nice, and the service is prompt and good. Highly recommended for a great time with family or friends (or both).

Visited this restaurant in December 2008 with family and friends. Excellent Indo-Chinese food. Tried Eggplant with Paneer in Spicy Hoisin Sauce, Vegetable Manchurian and Braised Chili Tofu. Lot of Fantastic vegetarian options.

Recently opened restaurant. Was there last week. Fantastic Thai and Indo-Chinese food. Excellent service and ambience. Crispy lotus wheel and noodles are out of this world!
